National Visa Information
1. The Competent Visa Office
There is a specific
Greek legislation for the procedure of National visas (D type) to be
issued.
The Consulate General of Greece should issue
your visa.
2. Visa Application
Please complete the application form and attach
one recent photograph as well as the documents required (see further
below) All documents must be presented in original and one photocopy
enclosed. The application form must be signed and submitted in person.
Due to possible delays in processing individual visa applications,
it is recommended that you lodge your application not later than two
months before the date of your planned departure.
3. Fees
The current fee for National visa is EUR 37,50
payable in HKD and must be settled upon application. Fees are non-refundable.
Payment must be made in cash.
4. Supporting Documents
For your National visa application, please,
provide the following documents (in original plus one copy) in English:
- Application form duly completed plus one
recent photograph.
- Passport or travel document, valid for at
least 6 months
as well as the original old passport(s) plus copies of
previous Schengen visas
for the last three years if any and Hong
Kong stay permit valid for at least 6 months
after the expiry date of the requested National visa (if you do not have
a permanent HKID card).
- Letter of acceptance
by a licensed Greek Educational Organization.
- A letter from your employer confirming your
leave with endorsement (if applicable).
- Student
identification / university cover letter (if applicable).
- Recent Health
Certificate from a registrant hospital or clinic.
- Recent Criminal
Record. (Letter must be taken in person from the Consulate General of
Greece to submit in
Police Authorities of
Hong Kong).
- Travel/medical insurance (coverage EUR 30,000
and valid for the entire Schengen area for the duration of your
stay).
- Confirmed round trip airline ticket / booking.

Evidence of adequate financial means
with three months bank statement (such as a recent bank book
statement, a recent bank account statement or fixed deposit statement).
- A letter of invitation from the person you
are going to stay with in Greece or a confirmed hotel accommodation
booking.
- Minor applicants must present their birth
certificates and a written consent of their parents/legal guardians
(application has to be submitted by parents/legal
guardians).
Further documents might be requested in
individual cases.
The above mentioned requirements are not an exhaustive list. Additional
documents may be requested and presentation of the above-mentioned
documents does not guarantee issuance of the visa.
